Effective today, DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (DiGi) is offering all its current smartphone models available for the government-driven initiative, Youth Communications Package(also known as Pakej Komunikasi Belia). It will be available in 21 DiGi Stores nationwide.
Under the Youth Communications Package from DiGi, existing and new customers can enjoy the RM200 rebate on any 3G smartphone offered by DiGi currently, with iDiGi plans (for iPhone models) or DG Smart Plans (for Android OS and others).
Prepaid customers can only choose either Samsung Galaxy Y (RRP RM369) or HTC One X (RRP RM1,749) to enjoy the RM200 rebate, and further receive a free RM10 reload coupon. Existing DiGi Prepaid customers without a data plan are required to subscribe to the Mobile Internet Weekly 300MB(RM15/week or RM60/month) before enjoying the rebate. DiGi said that more prepaid packages will be unveiled in the near future, but did not disclosed further.
“We will continue to roll out and scale up our service offerings and customer touch points in the coming weeks. We want to create a good customer experience by ensuring each touch point will be properly equipped and trained to handle the special purchasing process while advising our customers on how best to utilise the many benefits of Mobile Internet,” explains Praveen Rajan, Head of Products – Internet & Services in DiGi.
Open to youths between 21 and 30 with monthly gross income of RM3,000 and below, the Youth Communications Package is a Malaysia Government initiative via SKMM to drive 3G smartphone adoption among youths. Eligible youths are required to register at a dedicated SKMM website to qualify for the RM200 rebate.
