One of the lucky customer Mr Subas Chandran, 45, who signed up for the service at the Maxis Centre in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail on 1 January itself, had this to say. “I wanted to be among the first in Malaysia to experience 4G speeds. After using it for only three days, I dare say that I can really feel the difference compared to 3.5G. I watch YouTube and music videos when waiting to pick my son up from school – streaming is very smooth and takes only seconds.”
Mr Subas was among the four lucky customers to receive exclusive hampers from Maxis for merely signing up for Maxis’ 4G LTE service. They received their token of appreciation from Maxis Joint Chief Operating Officer Mark Dioguardi.
Mark said, “At Maxis, we understand that consumers are always looking for faster speeds and reliable service for a more enjoyable internet experience. We’re proud to be the first to offer our customers the privilege of experiencing super fast internet access, which in turn will allow them to enjoy a richer internet experience with download speeds between five and ten times faster than 3G, smoother high definition (HD) video streams and lag-free gaming.”
“We’re delighted at the response from customers to our 4G LTE offering in the one week since its launch, and we’re committed to rolling out the service to more locations throughout the Klang Valley soon,” Mark continued.
Another customer, Mr Tey Seng Leng, 43, who has been a loyal Maxis customer for the past five years, was also looking forward to experiencing 4G LTE. “I’ve been using Maxis postpaid and broadband all this time and have always been satisfied with the speed and coverage. I’ve heard a lot about this new technology so I want to try it, but I think my children will be the most excited since they surf the internet a lot and play online games.”
En Shamsul Kamal bin Roslan, 40, concurred. “I’ve been a Maxis postpaid customer for ten years now but I’ve never used the broadband service before. This will be my first experience and I’m hoping to use it to improve my work efficiency, since 4G is much faster and will take less time to download and process data.”
Maxis is currently the only Telco to offer the 4G LTE service. It is available in selected parts of the Klang Valley including Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Damansara Utama, Desa Sri Hartamas, Bandar Puchong Jaya, Bandar Sunway and Cyberjaya. Customers can walk in to Maxis Centres in KLCC and Taman Tun Dr. Ismail during normal operating hours to subscribe to the Wireless Broadband package from RM88 per month to enjoy the LTE service.
