Telekom Malaysia, the Internet Service Provider that operates UniFi, Malaysia’s high speed speed broadband service, has release a new Graphic User Interface (GUI) for its IPTV service, HyppTV giving its viewers an enhanced viewing experience with the new look and feel.
With the new GUI, the programme timeline displays the programme duration, indicating whether a particular show has just started or is nearing the end. By using the programme guide on the platform, it not only indicates the duration of the show currently on air, but also includes a seven (7) days programme info that could be scrolled by date.
For the VOD and Interactive channels, HyppTV has given it a more visually-oriented layout. The VOD and Interactive search function for all its library titles is now more visible so you can now catch the movie title of your choice or interactive applications on the channels easily with this new and improved layout.
Commenting on HyppTV’s latest initiative, Jeremy Kung, Executive Vice President of New Media, TM said, “This latest enhancement by HyppTV is testament of our commitment to continuously explore new and innovative ways towards improving our customers’ experience. With the unique and appealing GUI, subscribers will not only experience a fresh look and feel on the platform but also a new programme timeline feature, the first time ever on HyppTV. This feature is particularly useful for HyppTV viewers who constantly use the Catch-up and Time Shift TV functions as it enable them to view the programming timeline easily, making it more convenient to catch their favourite programme anytime they wish to, in line with HyppTV’s tagline of Primetime, Anytime and Everytime.”
“Fresh from being conferred as the Best Online TV or Solution Service 2013 at the recent TV Connect Industry Award in Mayfair, London, HyppTV is steadily gaining recognition as a key IPTV player not only locally, but also in the region. We are indeed proud with the achievement thus far, and we stay committed to continue providing viewers with the best quality content offerings and enhanced viewing experience. As part of the efforts, the introduction of this latest feature is hoped to make us stand out from the rest,” Jeremy added.
To date, HyppTV is offering its customers 107 channels with 20 channels in High Definition (HD) – consisting of 72 premium linear channels, 15 Video-On-Demand (VOD) genres and 20 interactive channels. In its efforts to enhance subscribers’ viewing experience, starting 26 March 2013, HyppTV has realigned its channel numberings making it easier for the viewers to browse HyppTV channels based on its genre clusters.
