Maxis Launches Hotlink Social Edition

Maxis Berhad today launched a new Social Edition Hot Ticket and also a new starter pack called Hotlink Social Edition.

The mobile operator said that Hotlink Social Edition, the latest prepaid plan from Maxis, is the first 3-in-1 social media prepaid plan to be launched in the market, with free unlimited access to Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp. The Hotlink Social Edition is also catered to existing Hotlink customers, where they can purchase the Social Edition Hot Ticket to enjoy the services and more.

The new Hotlink Social Edition starter pack cost RM10, offers customers the following services that have a combined value of RM18:

  • A new SIM
  • Free unlimited access to Facebook(m.facebook.com), Twitter(m.twitter.com) and WhatsApp;
  • RM5 of airtime for calls & SMS to all local networks, as well as all International Direct Dialing (IDD) calls
  • All day data of up to 50MB for internet browsing.
  • 5-day validity period

Charging rate is at 24sen/min for Voice calls & 5 sen/SMS to Hotlink & Maxis network, and 36sen/min for voice calls & 10sen/SMS to other local networks. Calls are charged at a 30-second charging block.

For off-peak hour between 2am to 7am, daily, Hotlink Social Edition users gets to enjoy voice calls at 24sen for each 3min.

Meanwhile, for existing Hotlink customers, all they need to do is purchase the special Hotlink Social Edition Hot Ticket, also for RM10, to enjoy the following services that have a combined value of RM20:

  • Free unlimited access to Facebook(m.facebook.com), Twitter(m.twitter.com) and WhatsApp;
  • RM7 worth of airtime that can be used for voice, video calls & SMS to all local networks.
  • All-day data of up to 100MB
  • 1GB of data between 2am and 7am
  • 5-day validity period.

At the end of the Hot Ticket validity period, unused airtime balance will be frozen for a grace period of 7 days before forfeiture. The balance can be carried forward (up to maximum of RM100) if the next Hot Ticket (Social edition) is activated within the 7 days grace period.

The launch, which took place in the presence of over 300 Hotlink dealers and the media in Kuala Lumpur, was simultaneously orchestrated at five other major locations in Peninsular Malaysia, namely Penang, Johor Bahru, Ipoh, Kuantan and Alor Setar.
