U Mobile offers Lowest Voice Roaming Rates in Myanmar

Malaysia based 3G mobile operator, U Mobile announced today that effective from  21st. June 2013, all U Mobile postpaid subscribers travelling to Myanmar will now be able to enjoy the lowest voice roaming rates via Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications’ (MPT) network, the incumbent telecoms provider in Myanmar.

All U Mobile postpaid customers roaming  in Myanma will be able to enjoy the lowest voice roaming rates at RM4.00 per minute when calling back to Malaysia and RM1.25 per minute when making local calls during their stay in Myanmar.

“Recent numbers reported by the governmental statistics body, the Central Statistical Organization, showed that more than 30,000 Malaysian travellers visited Myanmar in 2012. Malaysians are travelling more and more each year and mobile subscribers are using their phones abroad as frequently as they do in their own home country. With the new offering by U Mobile which offers the lowest voice roaming rates, it will certainly benefit the Malaysian travellers who visit Myanmar” said Jaffa Sany Ariffin, Chief Executive Officer of U Mobile Sdn Bhd.

He continued “U Mobile intends to tap the international business travellers’ segment as we know instant connectivity whilst travelling is a necessity nowadays, which is why we want to make sure they continue to stay connected while travelling with their friends and family by offering our customers the most affordable and excellent roaming service while they are on the move”.
