GoMobile Expo, Digital Lifestyle Expo & PC Fair starts Friday

GoMobile Expo, Digital Lifestyle Expo & PC Fair are expected to take place this coming weekend(Friday-Sunday), 23-25 August 2013 at the KL Convention Centre(KLCC).

At the same time, the exposition will see Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) showcasing a series of technologies on digital lifestyle for the first time under its Digital Lifestyle Malaysia programme.

Apart from the usual discounts and bargains, in support of the green initiative, PIKOM this time will be organising a “Adopt-A-Tree” campaign as part of the association’s Corporate Social Responsibility project for 2013. Under this green campaign, all waste materials found at the convention hall during the fair will be collected and sent for recycling. Profit gained from this exercise will be spent on replanting trees in Klang Valley at a later date to be confirmed by the association. Visitors to PIKOM PC fair are thus encouraged to register themselves to be eligible to the Adopt-A-Tree campaign. Lucky registrants whom has an ‘8’ as the last digit will be entitled for an entry to run for an opportunity to ‘adopt’ a tree under their name.

In addition, consumer could expect more exciting activities over the 3-day event such as hourly lucky draw, daily freebies, daily lucky draw with gifts like hard disks, Chrome Books, portable power banks, tablets and 10 Fixie Bikes sponsored by Intel Malaysia.

Moreover, there will be 100 netbooks to be given out at SKMM pavilion to its online game winners. Among other interesting activities are free workshops on mobile apps developments that will be taking place on all three days at GoMobile as well as an opportunity to explore lifelong learning through local startup, MyMobileUni.

As part of DLE this year, MCMC will be showcasing more than 30 digital lifestyle application booths. Additionally, many interesting activities are scheduled to take place during the three-day expo. Among them are industry workshops sessions, an online quiz, a talent search competition and the inaugural Broadband Empowered Entrepreneur Awards or BEE Awards presentation by the Prime Minister.

PIKOM is the organiser of PC Fair and Digital Lifestyle Expo (DLE). Its membership currently stands at over 1,500 comprising companies involved in a whole spectrum of ICT products and services which command about 80% of the total ICT trade in Malaysia.

Organised by CommTechAsia Sdn Bhd since 2008, GoMobile consists of the GoMobile Conference, The GoMobile Awards Night and the GoMobile Expo. The Go Mobile Expo is a showcase of mobile devices, technology, services and lifestyle.

‘Mother of all Digital Fairs’ as the organisers call it, the event is expected to attract over 150,000 visitors this year.
