U Mobile Sdn Bhd expands its reach to East Malaysia, which saw the opening of its 15th and 16th service centres in Kuching(Sarawak) and Kota Kinabalu(Sabah) respectively.

Part of the company’s expansion strategy in East Malaysia, the opening of both outlets is aimed at bringing U Mobile products and services closer to consumers in the region, enabling them to enjoy mobile and data services, along with other value-added services and benefits of being a U Mobile subscriber.

U Mobile said that the launch of the Kota Kinabalu service center signifies a big milestone for U Mobile as it expands its reach to East Malaysia, bringing its wide range of services closer to consumers within the region. It provides yet another touch point for customers to experience U Mobile’s products and services. The service center will also assist customers in enquiries about latest offerings, bill payments, and in seeking advice from U Mobile’s service consultants on any queries.
The opening event in Kota Kinabalu had an hourly lucky draw, giving a chance for new subscribers to bring home attractive prizes worth more than RM10,000 in total. Prizes included ZTE V817 smartphones, Sony smartphones and accessories, LG Mobile photo printers, Huawei Mobile WiFi and modems. Lucky U Mobile postpaid customers were given the chance to purchase limited units of the Samsung GALAXY S4 at RM399 without contract, an exciting offer valid only on the day itself.
Additionally, U Mobile offered an exclusive broadband plan during the launch. The MB15 broadband plan included 1 unit of a 3.6Mbps USB modem at only RM49.90. Customers were also treated to food & beverage, fun games, and a balloon giveaway throughout the day.

Region Director of Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), accompanied by Alex Tan, U Mobile’s Director of Sales, and Jasmine Lee, Director of Marketing, who officiated the opening of U Mobile’s Kota Kinabalu service centre. The VIPs watched on as confetti cannons blasted away upon placing the lighted U Mobile standees. The event was graced by a lively dragon dance featuring a pair of orange-colored lions to ceremoniously symbolize good blessings and future prosperity.
In line with its expansion in East Malaysia, U Mobile officially launched its Kuching outlet on the 17th of March, 2014.
