Our flagship stores personify this belief. We are very excited to be one of the first Chinese high-tech companies to open a store in KLCC, a renowned landmark in Malaysia.”
“When we first started to sell our own branded handsets two years ago, Huawei is unknown to most of the consumers. Thanks to the support from our customers, high quality of our phones and the team’s dedication, our business has changed significantly. Today we are very proud to reach the milestone to open our own flagship store in Suria KLCC. With more points of sale, a stronger network, and many more devices, it has been a truly exciting journey. Today’s event is an indication of how far we have come and our commitment to keep delivering in Malaysia.”
Globally, Huawei’s consumer business group has witnessed impressive growth, it claimed. In 2013, Huawei were ranked number three in global smartphone shipments for the year by IDC, Strategy Analytics and Canalys, with the highest year-on-year increase among the leading manufacturers at 67.5% at 4.9% market share. In the first quarter of this year, Huawei sold 13.7 million smartphones globally and intends to deliver a further 80 million handsets by the end of this year.
“Malaysian consumers have shown tremendous affinity for our devices, proved by an increasing number of shipments every year. Today, Malaysia contributes significantly to our global shipments and market share and we are very proud of it! We are certain that with increasing platforms to engage consumers face to face on an everyday basis, the trust in our brand will continue to grow,” added Gary.
