Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), Clixster Mobile Sdn Bhd (Clixster) announced last week it has signed a new MVNO agreement with Enabling Asia Tech Sdn Bhd (Enabling Asia), a Mobile Virtual Network Aggregator (MVNA) which has network collaboration with U Mobile Sdn Bhd. Clixster and Enabling Asia will commence provisioning of mobile services in Malaysia from 20 November 2014.
Clixster also said that it has taken over Enabling Asia. The company said that “With the acquirement of EA, this make Clixster as Mobile Virtual Network Enabler (MVNE), giving us more freedom to decide on business direction, service rate and execution timeline.” An official announcement is expected to be made soon. “Once the migration and take over completed, new exciting packages will be offered to subscribers,” the company added.
Clixster, launched in September 2011 with DiGi, has an exclusive business partnership with ANGKASA (National Cooperative Organization of Malaysia), Malaysia’s apex body for cooperative organisations, representing the largest community network of 10,400 member cooperatives, representing over 8.4 million individual cooperative members. The MVNO said that it currently has some 160,000 active subscribers.
Enabling Asia first signed its MVNO agreement with U Mobile in May 2013. As a Mobile Virtual Network Aggregator (MVNA), Enabbling Asia offers brands integrated solutions from licensing, billing, and technical solutions to call centre support, to enable companies get to market speedily, easily and at a lower cost.
Clixster said the new MVNO agreement will provide Clixster with the necessary platform to scale rapidly and effectively compete by simultaneously improving its traditional service offerings and enhancement of its value added services.
As part of the migration, all existing Clixster subscribers are urged to upgrade their SIM cards immediately. Customers can apply for the new SIM cards on the Clixster website and the new SIM will be delivered via PosLaju. The SIM change could also be done at any Clixster Dealers or Resellers.
