U Mobile Sdn Bhd announced today the introduction of free data for music and radio streaming in collaboration with KK Box, Era, My.FM and Hitz.FM.
From 11 November 2014 to 15 May 2015, U Mobile’s new and existing prepaid, postpaid and broadband customers who are subscribed to data plans will be eligible to enjoy free data to stream the latest music hits as well as their favourite radio programs with no limitations. Once the promotional period has ended, U Mobile data users can still continue enjoying this service at a monthly rate RM3 without exhausting their existing data quota.

There is no quota for the free music streaming service from U Mobile, however for the connection speed while streaming Kkbox, MY fm, Era & Hitz.fm will be limited to 512kbps (DL) and 256kbps (UL) all day.
To use the service, eligible U Mobile customers can download the Kkbox, MY fm, Era & Hitz.fm mobile apps from Google Play store and the Apple App Store.

U Mobile said the service promotion is aligned with U Mobile’s strategic approach to give more reasons for consumers to join U Mobile as they cater to surprise consumers with affordable rates and great offerings. Targeting youths and young professionals, U Mobile hopes to acquire greater market share with its new add-on, especially in line with their recent Vision 2 Million campaign that aims to achieve two million new U Mobile customers by the end of the year.
Just last month, U Mobile launched free data for non-stop video streaming of YouTube and Tonton contents. Eligible customers are able to enjoy free YouTube and Tonton streaming from 2am – 10am without affecting their data quota.
