Sony Mobile Communications announced the availability of the new Sony SmartBand Talk in Malaysia.
With its built-in microphone and speaker, SmartBand Talk comes equipped with a short call function so users can talk into it and hear the caller, with HD Voice support. Through Sony’s integrated Voice Control technology, users can also assign their own sounds to life bookmarks and use voice to carry out specific smartphone operations.
SmartBand Talk has an always-on 1.4” E-ink display. It’s low-power but Sony said it is highly visible and clear; users can monitor Lifelog activity, view notifications and the time at a glance.
There’s also a new built-in accelerometer and altimeter sensor technology. SmartBand Talk is waterproof (IP68 rated).
The SmartBand Talk works with the Lifelog app. The android app basically allow users to view information about their communications, entertainment and physical activities. SmartBand Talk connects to the Lifelog application on the Android smartphone via Bluetooth and NFC.
Sony said it is previewing a new web interface login for Lifelog, accessible from the Sony Mobile website later this year, designed to give users even more visibility and control over their lifestyle data. Sony will open up the API for partners to integrate services with Lifelog or build completely fresh experiences later this year.
SmartBand Talk will retail from 13th November at the price of RM579 only at KLCC & The Curve Sony Stores. Sony Centres, Sony Mobile stores and other retail outlets are expected to carry them by end of this month.
