U Mobile: U MicroCredit, iPhone 6 from RM98/month without credit card [Insider]

U Mobile is set to launch a new device micro financing program next week, a 1st for a Telco in Malaysia and probably the 1st of its kind for iPhones. Called U MicroCredit, the device financing program allows anyone (prepaid/postpaid customers) to own a smartphone (including iPhone 6) without the need of a credit card.

MalaysianWireless has managed to obtain some details regarding the U MicroCredit device program, below are some screenshots: 

1. Low Rates, 2 Hours Fast Approval, Flexible Repayment Months, customers could also apply online.

2. To apply, customers need to submit: Identification (MyKAD), Minimum RM1k proof of income and 2 Referees.UMobile-Umicrocredit-2

3. U MicroCredit requirements: Malaysian Citizen, age 18 and above, minimum gross income is RM1,000 and other below.

4. U MicroCredit is backed by Berjaya Credit or Singer. Customers need to sign an agreement once application is approved. Monthly fee starts from RM98.

Sources close to MalaysianWireless said that customers will have 3 options to choose for the monthly payment. The lowest monthly payment is at RM98 for 30 months. We don’t have monthly pricing for 12 month and 24 month yet.

The best part of U MicroCredit: It is not just available for postpaid customers but prepaid users as well.

The new U MicroCredit from U Mobile is set to launch on 17 March, the same day the Telco is launching the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in Malaysia.
