Digi appoints Kesavan Sivabalan as Chief Network Officer (CNO) & Orsolya Sekerka as Chief IT Officer (CIO)

Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) today announced the appointment of Kesavan Sivabalan as Chief Network Officer (CNO), and Orsolya Sekerka as Digi’s Chief IT Officer (CIO) with immediate effect to its management team.


As Chief Network Officer (CNO), Sivabalan was previously Head of Technology Operations. He has been given the mandate to build a best in class network, and drive network quality, stability and security to further enhance customer experience. Digi said that Sivabalan is a highly experienced telecommunications executive with 20 years of industry experience across Asian and Asia Pacific markets.

Sekerka who will lead the IT and Project Portfolio as Chief IT Officer (CIO) will have overall accountability for product development, project and portfolio management as well as IT strategy and development, Digi said in a statement. Formerly Digi’s Head of IT Development, Sekerka has deep experience managing IT development projects and operations, and joined Digi since 2013 from Telenor Hungary. She brings with her over 15 years experience with the Telenor Group.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Albern Murty says, “We’ve built a solid foundation for the business, complete with a brand-new network, modernised IT assets and operations, and next-generation go-to-market models, systems and processes, to fuel future growth. I believe the organizational changes we are putting in place will give us the edge to be even more focused in driving enhanced efficiencies and execute sharply on business critical initiatives, and solidify our overall core competencies to deliver strongly to our 11 million growing customers and in achieving our long-term ambition to be the leading mobile internet provider for mass market.”

Commenting on the new appointments, Murty added, “I’m very proud to welcome on board both Kesavan and Orsolya to the Digi Management Team. I look forward to working with these highly talented and passionate colleagues, and confident that they will complement the strength of the rest of the Management Team in driving the next phase of Digi’s growth.”

As part of these changes, the Customer Service and Customer Management functions will be aligned to the company’s Sales portfolio. Loh Keh Jiat is currently the Chief Sales Officer (CSO) of Digi.
