U Mobile has launched its new UMI 25 prepaid add on plan with 1GB of data. The new Unlimited Mobile Internet (UMI) plan is in response to the Ministry of Communication and Multimedia Malaysia’s (MCMC) call to make broadband plans more affordable and accessible to consumers, the Telco said.
At RM25/month, the UMI 25 plan comes with 1GB high speed mobile Internet powered by U Mobile’s 3G and 4G LTE network. It also comes with 30 minutes free on-net (U Mobile to U Mobile) calls every day, all day with every top up. Users will enjoy the lowest call rates in town from as low as 5 sen for every 30 seconds call to all networks, it claims.
As a result of its partnership last year, U Mobile is offering free data for video streaming for both YouTube and Tonton to UMI 25 subscribers. Customers can now watch their favourite YouTuber in action, or catch up on their favourite TV shows during off peak hours, which is from 2:00am to 10:00am with no additional charges. UMI 25 customers will also enjoy free data for music streaming all-day and all-night with no limitation on KKBOX, Hitz.FM, Era FM and MY.FM.
“This initiative is aligned with MCMC’s direction to provide greater nationwide connectivity and broadband access to the Rakyat. We are currently rolling out new 3G and 4G LTE sites across Peninsular Malaysia, and it is an area that we continuously invest in to enhance connectivity and mobile Internet experience. Coupled with our company’s string of best-value mobile Internet packages, we are making mobile broadband more accessible to consumers,“ said Wong Heang Tuck, Chief Executive Officer of U Mobile.
“We have consistently demonstrated our leadership in product innovation and value leadership, offering value-for-money products and bundle them with ample value-added services as seen in the UMI 25 plan. We will continue to deliver more innovative products and services of similar nature to cater to the ever-changing mobile needs and lifestyles,” he added.
