Celcom Axiata Berhad signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Country Garden Pacificview Sdn. Bhd and Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd to jointly explore how to build and operate Forest City as a smarter and safer city. Forest City is a mixed-development project comprising residential and commercial properties on four reclaimed islands in Iskandar, Johor Bahru.
The MoU is the first of such collaboration in the world, with a wide and comprehensive scope that aims to drive network excellence, seamless services and service innovation, Celcom claims. The tri-party agreement will see the first time that a network operator in Malaysia being involved in an extensive collaboration of network and solutions resources.

The signing of the MOU will allow Celcom to provide seamless fixed and mobile convergence to potential residents of Forest City. Additionally, it will enable Celcom to explore business and collaborative opportunities through its partners in providing its smart city solutions and operation integration for Forest City.
