Celcom Axiata Berhad unveiled Zipit Chat on Wednesday, a new secure messaging mobile application that is developed by mTouche, a content provider based in Malaysia.

According to Celcom, Zipit Chat comes with ultimate privacy features between users for their chats, messages, email and phone book information.
Features of Zipit Chat:
- Secure – chats, email, voice over IP (VoIP) and files to be transferred, can be encrypted
- Protection – password protection can be reset and the screen capture becomes disabled
- Control –media and phone book info can be switched to private mode and messages can be made to self-destruct
- Invisible – conversation remains in stealth mode;
Zipit Chat is built on Advanced Encryption Standards (AES) 256, a reliable symmetrical encryption algorithm that is used by the U.S. and Canadian governments as standards for encrypting transited data.
Celcom said it is offering the service for free to all customers, including non-Celcom customers (terms and conditions apply) until 22 November 2015.
Zalman Aefendy Zainal Abidin, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer of Celcom Axiata Berhad said Zipit Chat is a breath of fresh air for those who want to maintain fullest control of privacy for their chats and messages.

Earlier this month, Celcom organised a contest that offered RM100,000 cash money to the person who was able to break the Zipit Chat encryption. There were 70,000 submission, 74 of them got close but no one succeeded.
Zipit Chat is available from Google play for Android smartphones at RM10 a month while the iOS version for Apple App store is expected to be available next month.
