In line with this year’s tagline “Taking Ideas Further”, Digi WWWOW Awards 2015 is introducing a brand new incubator series known as the Digi WWWOW Hangout which serves as a “source of inspiration” for the winners to reach the next level with their ideas. Digi said these specially curated sessions will enable participants to listen and learn from experts in various related industries.

As with previous years, this year’s submissions will face the scrutiny of a panel of judges who are “experts from various backgrounds”. Members of the public will also be able to participate as they vote online for the People’s Choice Award. Winners from each category will walk home with a cash prize of RM10,000.

This year, Digi is introducing the all-new Digi’s Pick, a special selection in which the company will invest in a submitted idea to potentially sustain and take it further as a joint venture between the entrepreneur and Digi. To participate in this category, a concrete business plan that includes a targeted investment, key performance indicators as well as revenue projections must be submitted through the WWWOW Awards website.

Digi claims that its Digi WWWOW Awards is Malaysia’s first and only awards that celebrate the achievements of Malaysians who have positively utilised the power of the Internet. Last year, DiGi WWWOW Internet For All Awards 2014 received 750 entries and 50,000 votes over a period of eight weeks since its launch in April 2014. The award is endorsed by the Malaysian Communications & Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

This year’s categories include:

  • Video & photography
  • Social Influences
  • Independent Publishers
  • Web Commerce
  • Mobile App Commerce
  • Social Media Commerce
  • Social Impact
  • Social Movement

Additionally, one winner, chosen from the eight category winners, will be named the Ultimate WWWOW Winner and get a chance to be part of a regional TEDx event.

The submission/nomination for the Digi WWWOW Awards will close on 12 October.
