Hotel booking app, HotelQuickly has unveiled a new, seven-day booking window for mobile users in Asia-Pacific destinations.
Two years after introducing last-minute hotel booking mobile app to Asia-Pacific, HotelQuickly is expanding its 48-hour timeframe to a wider booking window in response to customer requests. Travellers in 15 countries can now use the app to get exclusive deals on rooms up to 7 days before check-in.
The move is aimed at offering users greater freedom in their travels. “Since the start of HotelQuickly we’ve made it a point to listen closely to our customers’ needs and navigate in line with those,” said Tomas Laboutka, HotelQuickly Co-founder and CEO. “Many of our members love the discounts and ease-of-use the app offers, and they want to use HotelQuickly for more than same- and next-day bookings. The week-long calendar gives users more opportunities for spontaneous travel, which is our main goal at HotelQuickly.”
Laboutka said the new seven-day calendar is just one in a series of features HotelQuickly is set to debut over the next few months. “We’re working constantly to make HotelQuickly the smoothest, smartest booking tool out there,” Laboutka said. “There are some exciting projects in the pipeline that are going to make booking with HotelQuickly more appealing than ever.”
Since its launch in March 2013, the app has received more than 1.5 million downloads from travellers looking for an easy solution to last-minute booking concerns. HotelQuickly said it prides itself on its easy booking process, which shows users in any destination a list of the day’s best deals at curated three- to five-star properties.
In Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur remains the most booked last-minute destination. The average last-minute room rate in Malaysia booked by HotelQuickly members was on average more than 30% lower than what these travelers would have paid online for the exact same room.
HotelQuickly raised more than US$ 5.65m in two rounds, which was used to expand to 15 countries including Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, South Korea, Laos, Myanmar, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Its most notable backers include GREE, Inc, a Japanese mobile gaming giant, William E. Heinecke, the Chairman & CEO of Thai-based Minor International, as well as the former Chairman of Singtel and Chairman of Singapore Airlines, Boon Kwee Koh.
HotelQuickly’s seven-day booking calendar is now open for all users in all destinations. The HotelQuickly app is available for free on iPhone and Android devices, available in nine languages.
