With Flexi U MicroCredit from U Mobile, customers who purchase the new iPhone can select their financing amount from RM1,000 to RM3,500 (believed to be RM1k, RM1.5k, RM2k, RM2.5k, RM3k, RM3.5 k), choose between 12-36 month (12, 24, 30, 36) repayment and then settle the balance amount of the iPhone’s retail price with cash or credit card. Interest rate is flat at 1.2%.

For an example, if the iPhone 6S cost RM3,500, customers have the option to pay, say RM1000 cash and the remaining RM2,500 will be paid in installment (monthly) via Flexi U MicroCredit.

At the moment, the current U MicroCredit with full financing amount allows a customer to own an iPhone from as low as RM98. With this new flexi payment option, MalaysianWireless believes that the monthly payment for the new iPhone could go as low as RM50/month.

U Mobile customers can apply for U MicroCredit via the U Mobile website or walk in to U Mobile centre or selected dealers. They need need to submit a copy of Identification (MyKAD), proof of income and 2 referees. The application takes a minimum few hours to process.
