Celcom to giveaway RM1 million worth of movie tickets to customers

Starting this month until the end of February 2016, Celcom Axiata customers can enjoy giveaways worth millions of ringgit when they subscribe to any Xpax mobile internet plan or sign up with Celcom FiRST plans, purchase Max Up.

For the month of December 2015, Celcom is giving away RM1 million worth of (free) movie tickets from Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) and MBO Cinemas nationwide.

Eligible customers include to who subscribe to Xpax monthly mobile internet, new FiRST plans sign ups, and Celcom postpaid customers who purchase the Max Up data plan.

From December until 6 January 2016, customers who purchase any of the above will receive an SMS containing a gift code. Customers can then log in to the Celcom/Xpax websites and key in their details to be given a voucher, in which they can use to redeem a free movie ticket at selected cinemas nationwide. The movie tickets will expire on 31st March 2016.

Customer who choose not to redeem the movie ticket could use the voucher to watch two movies on ESCAPE, an online entertainment portal from Celcom.

Celcom also have two other giveways scheduled in January and February 2016, but did not reveal the details during the media event.

“For January and February, there will also be another exciting and special give-away worth millions of ringgit! So be sure to be on the lookout on our websites for the latest give-aways,” said Zalman Aefendy Zainal Abidin, Chief of Sales and Marketing Officer, Celcom Axiata Berhad.

“Celcom will always place the needs of our customers first by fuelling them with seamless internet coverage together with millions of rewards. This time, our focus is to top-up our customers’ needs with millions of give-aways like entertainment, food, beverages and many more,” he said.

Zalman told MalaysianWireless that existing Xpax subscribers who are subscribed to the monthly mobile Internet plan will also get to enjoy the giveway when the plan is auto renewed during the campaign period.

“Moving forward, Celcom aspires to, and will continue to provide all its loyal customers with the best rewards from their digital communication needs by fulfilling them with the best offers possible,” Zalman said.

Responding to a question from MalaysianWireless, Zalman said Celcom’s network is still faster than the other Telcos. “Our network is not congested even with the (additional subscribers on) Internet Burung Hantu plan. Perhaps you are referring to another Telco but our network is not congested,” he added.

As of Q3 2015, Celcom Axiata has a total of 12.5 million subscribers including 9.7 million prepaid and 2.8 million postpaid subscribers.
