Hotlink FAST, Do Whatever Faster, but customers saying slow Maxis Internet, poor experience [Comment]

Maxis, the self claimed No.1 4G LTE network in the country, recently launched a new prepaid plan called Hotlink Fast in December 2015.

Maxis describes Hotlink Fast as:
DO WHATEVER FASTER
YouTube, surf, stream share and do whatever faster with our new prepaid plan! Experience the No. 1 4G LTE Network that’s packed with more goodies

The Hotlink Fast starter pack cost RM15 but only preloaded with RM5 credit, 500MB data and just 5 days validity.

Three mobile Internet plans are available and it comes with two different data quota, one for 4G LTE and another one for 4G/3G/2G:

  • RM30/month: 1GB + 1GB (4G LTE)
  • RM48/month: 2GB + 2GB (4G LTE)
  • RM10/week: 250MB + 250MB (4G LTE)

I am not even sure why Maxis would separate 4G LTE quota and 3G quota, it doesn’t make sense to me. Maxis 4G LTE network coverage is not as wide as its 3G, what if customers are not located within the Maxis No.1 4G LTE network coverage areas? What happens to that 4G LTE quota?

Voice call remains one of the most expensive in the industry, 24sen per minute on Hotlink Fast compared to U Mobile Prepaid’s 10sen/minute. Hotlink Fast SMS rates are charged at 12sen/SMS.

Meanwhile, the Telco was recently named “Best Local Telecommunications Provider of 2015” by local technology site, LowYat.

However, Maxis customers continues to complain about its slow network and poor experience. These are some of the customer complaints on Maxis Facebook page since January 1, 2016 (Note: Some comments below are unpleasant/vulgar):

Hopefully Maxis could FASTer resolve all these customer complaints.
