Introduced to consumers in Malaysia in 2011, speakOUT is operated by ASP licensed Mobile Virtual Network Service Provider (MVNSP), Pavo Communications Sdn. Bhd. speakOUT operates on the Digi 3G and 4G network. It utilizes the “unique and extensive marketing channel” of 7-Eleven convenient stores around the country.

“Contrary to what many people perceive, the pre-paid mobile consumer market segment is much larger than the post-paid market segment, which has a user base that is very diverse” said Greg Oon, Group Co-CEO and Executive Director of speakOUT. “Understanding their spending trends and identifying their difference, which results in their different requirements, our latest offerings will definitely provide them more options, more value and convenience as well” he added.

“In the analyzing and redesigning of our packages, we have focused on ensuring worry and hassle free solutions for consumers.  Beyond the various SIM and plans, we have also come to an agreement with smart device makers ZTE, Ding Ding and GOMAX, to bundle their smart devices with our SIM packages” said Oon.  He highlighted that though speakOUT is not the first to offer a phone and prepaid SIM option to consumers in Malaysia, its strategic partnerships will see it push that offering more aggressively.

“Depending on their usage wants and styles, users can choose a very affordable bundle and start using it immediately. On top of that, the various choice of phone they can choose from comes with different Freeload value that will definitely add to their user experience.

speakOUT said that it is currently in discussion with the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) to bring Malaysia mobile developers and startups to utilize its telecommunication ecosystem as a platform, for growth, focusing on the development strength and capability, and explore more opportunities to market the mobile solutions.

“As a MVNSP with strategic partnership with device makers, mobile application builders and solution providers have a great opportunity to grow together with us. Playing as an aggregator role, we would love to see Malaysia be the stepping stone for market expansion and growth for applications and solution developers” Oon expressed, mentioning that speakOUT also targets to expand into Singapore and Thailand in the near future.
