Digi prepaid and postpaid customers with an internet plan can purchase and activate the Digi Video Freedom pass beginning 15 April and stream the best and most popular video content from a host of partners that include YouTube, iflix, Astro on the Go, Viu, tonton, Dailymotion and HyppTV.

The Digi Video Freedom passes are available in two options, an hourly and daily pass which gives customers the freedom to choose based on their internet usage. The hourly pass costs RM1 for one hour while the daily pass costs RM5 for 24 hours, both with a fair usage policy. This limited time offer can be purchased via the MyDigi app that is downloadable from the Apple App Store as well as Google Play.

The Telco said that the RM5 for 24 hours pass comes with 10GB data quota while the RM1 for one hour pass comes with 3GB quota. It said that customers could purchase more passes within the same day if they run of out streaming quota.

“We want to connect our customers to various services and offerings that complement their digital lifestyle. Digi Video Freedom is another positive step forward in connecting customers to what matters to them on the Internet,” said Loh Keh Jiat, Digi’s Chief Marketing Officer.

He continued, “Digi sees a shift in internet consumption and believes that a vast majority of the content that people consume online will be video. Introducing the Digi Video Freedom pass is timely in linking our customers to video content at their fingertips. Now they get to watch their favourite entertainment shows, not their internet quota balance.”

“The passes enable our customers to enjoy video content anytime, anywhere without worrying about running out of Internet quota. The hourly passes helps customers pass the time while commuting or even waiting in queues while the daily pass gives them the option to binge watch their favourite shows. We have partnered with top video content providers that give our customers a breadth of choice. Now, there will never be another dull moment for our customers,” added Loh.

Praveen Rajan Nadarajan, Digi’s Head of Postpaid & Digital Services told MalaysianWirelss that the Telco has peered with most of the video content host partners, including Youtube, iflix and others while they are working on a remaining few.

Digi’s 4G LTE network now covers 72% of populated areas in Malaysia and is available in 153 major cities and towns while Digi’s LTE-A coverage can current serve 31% of Malaysians nationwide.
