8 Service Providers get compounds totaling RM510,000 from MCMC

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) have issued compounds totaling RM510,000 to 8 service providers in Malaysia including 3 MVNOs (Mobile Virtual Network Operators).

The compounds as of 1st Quarter of 2016 are:

Non-compliance- Mandatory Standards for Quality of Service:

  • Asian Broadcasting Network Sdn Bhd (ABN): Total RM20,000 (per compounds worth RM10,000)
  • TT Dotcom Sdn Bhd (TIME dotCom): Total RM10,000
  • Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd: Total RM10,000
  • Net2One Sdn Bhd (Altel): Total RM10,000
  • Celcom Axiata Berhad: Total RM10,000

False Registration of Prepaid SIM cards:

  • Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd: RM200,000 (4 compounds)
  • Tune Talk Sdn Bhd: RM100,000 (2 compounds)
  • Merchantrade Asia Sdn Bhd: RM100,000 (2 compounds)
  • XOX Com Sdn Bhd: RM50,000 (1 compound)

Other major Telecommunication companies such as Telekom Malaysian (TM), Maxis and U Mobile were not in the list.

MCMC KELUARKAN 15 KOMPAUN KEPADA ENAM SYARIKAT TELEKOMUNIKASI, PEMBEKAL PERKHIDMATAN DAN MVNO

CYBERJAYA, 5 April 2016 — Suruhanjaya Komunikasi dan Multimedia Malaysia (MCMC) baru-baru ini telah mengambil tindakan terhadap syarikat-syarikat telekomunikasi, pembekal perkhidmatan dan rangkaian maya mudah alih (MVNO) kerana kesalahan ketidakpatuhan Standard Mandatori bagi kualiti perkhidmatan dan pendaftaran palsu kad sim prabayar.

Sebanyak 15 kompaun berjumlah RM510,000 telah dikeluarkan oleh MCMC kepada enam syarikat telekomunikasi, sebuah syarikat pembekal perkhidmatan dan sebuah MVNO, setakat suku pertama 2016 yang lalu.

Bagi kesalahan ketidakpatuhan Standard Mandatori bagi kualiti perkhidmatan, dua kompaun telah dikeluarkan kepada Asian Broadcasting Network Sdn Bhd (ABN) berjumlah RM20,000 (setiap kompaun bernilai RM10,000) manakala satu kompaun masing-masing berjumlah RM10,000 kepada TT dotcom Sdn Bhd, Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd, Net2One Sdn Bhd dan Celcom Axiata Berhad.

Manakala, bagi kes pendaftaran palsu kad sim prabayar pula, empat kompaun telah dikeluarkan kepada Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd berjumlah RM200,000; dua kompaun berjumlah RM100,000 kepada Tune Talk Sdn Bhd; dua kompaun berjumlah RM100,000 kepada Merchantrade Asia Sdn Bhd dan satu kompaun berjumlahRM50,000 kepada XOX Com Sdn Bhd (setiap kompaun bernilai RM50,000).
