Digi also announced that it is collaborating with Astro to bring Raya-themed entertainment to Malaysians this Ramadan. Called the #LebihErat campaign, the two companies are working with, Akim and Stacy, affectionately referred to as KimCy, to bring a fun video mini-series which will only be available online.
“Today’s fast paced environment has led to a lot of people becoming more disconnected from family and friends. We want to celebrate their ties with how the internet is bringing them closer especially during this Ramadan and Aidilfitri season.
“Think about a Hari Raya that is not complete because your loved ones are not with you – a wife who is caught up at work on Raya day; a young couple going to ‘balik kampung’ in separate places; or even old folks who wish to spend Raya with their son but can’t because he is at his in-laws’ home. With the internet, we can all stay connected,” said Chan May Ling, Digi’s Head of Marketing Services.
Speaking on the Raya-themed video series, Chan added: “We are excited to be working closely with Astro as well as Akim and Stacy for #LebihErat. The celebrity couple will be celebrating their first Ramadan and Hari Raya as husband and wife. It is a story of Stacy’s journey in adopting a new culture away from home.”
“This is a great collaborative effort with all parties involved in bringing to life an idea that Digi, Astro and both artistes believe in strongly. Family and relationships are important to all of us. We aim to create and share inspiring content that we hope will drive a connection with audiences. We felt there was no better example than the story Akim and Stacy have to share,” she continued.
The special five-part miniseries will be available online for all to watch. The first two webisodes will appear exclusively on Astro’s infotainment portal, Gempak, while the remaining webisodes along with other content will be available on Telenor’s cloud storage service, Capture.
