Organised by TalentCorp in collaboration with the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM), this year’s [email protected] Awards acknowledged the efforts as well as the drive, commitment and tenacity of Digi and five other companies in implementing various diversity and inclusion programmes particularly for women in the workplace.

Digi said its key diversity and inclusion initiatives include its adoption of a Board Diversity Policy and introduction of the Women Network Mentoring programme in an ongoing effort to support development, growth and retention of more women leaders within its organisation. The first of its kind, six-month fully paid maternity policy in Malaysia was also implemented by Digi to allow mothers to spend more time with their newborns.

“It is an honour to be recognised for our commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. We have always believed that the mix of talent, gender, culture, experience, thoughts and values are what make us a better, stronger, more unique Digi. We also believe that diversity and inclusion must go hand-in-hand to fully make an impact, where everyone has the equal opportunity to a seat and a voice at the table. Building an inspiring workplace will continue to be a priority for Digi, one where all Digizens are afforded the freedom to inspire the next for Digi and for themselves, to achieve their fullest potential both at work and in life,” said Haroon Bhatti, Digi’s Chief Human Resources Officer.’

29 companies from across 13 industries participated in the [email protected] Awards 2016. Some of the other winners include Maybank Group (Platinum Winner), Intel (Best International Organisation), IBM (CEO Champion) and Starbucks (Special Mention).
