Mohar is the new CEO of webe Digital [Insider]

A very reliable source has tipped MalaysianWireless that Moharmustaqeem Mohammed, better known as Mohar, is the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of webe Digital.

Mohor’s appointment is expected to be announced on Monday by Dato’ Sri Mohammed Shazalli Ramly, Telekom Malaysia’s Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Telekom Malaysia Bhd’s (TM) unit Mobikom Sdn Bhd owns approximately 72.9% of Webe Digital Sdn Bhd.

Mohar, who has been with TM since December 2011 (and 7 years with Digi prior to TM), is currently the Vice President, Marketing Operations (Mass Market) at TM. He will be taking over the new role from Azizi A. Hadi who has been the CEO of webe for the past 9-month. Azizi will move back to TM to head Manage Accounts and VADS.

Apart from Mohar, webe will also be replacing its Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) with Nazeem Nasir. Nazeem is currently webe’s Head of Strategic Transformation Office and Digital Services. He joined webe in September 2014 and was with TM prior to that.

The current CMO of webe will be transferred to Telekom Malaysia. He will be responsible for Unifi product and marketing, transformation programme and mass market

Lai Shu Wei who is currently the webe CMO, will be transferred to TM to head “mass market marketing”. Shu Wei’s exact role has not been decided yet but he will be responsible for Unifi product and marketing, transformation programme and mass market. Shu Wei joined webe (Packet One) in January 2015. Prior to that, he was with Standard Chartered Bank for 2 years and Maxis for almost 8 years.
