Celcom Mobile Subscribers now higher at 9.6 million as of 1Q18

Celcom Axiata has managed to gain more customers in 1Q18, now at 9.6 million. The Telco added 51k new mobile subscribers between January and March 2018 (1Q18). There are now 2.83 million postpaid (vs 2.82 million in 4Q17) subscribers and 6.77 million prepaid (vs 6.72 million in 4Q17).

MaxisONE Plan Base “Dropped”, 9.85 million subscribers as of 1Q18

Maxis now has a lower 9.84 million revenue generating subscribers including 6.79 million on Hotlink prepaid and and 2.91 million on postpaid. MaxisONE Plan subscribers base has been readjusted dating back to January 2017, only crossing 2 million subscribers now. Revenue dropped compared to last quarter.

Digi has 11.76 million mobile subscribers as of 1Q18 (vs 11.75 million subscribers in 4Q17). Active Internet subscribers now stand at 8.61 million, lower compared to 8.66 million users it had in 4Q17. There are now 2.57 million Postpaid subscribers and 9.19 million Prepaid subscribers as of 1Q18.

Maxis lost 849k mobile subscribers in 2017, now at 10 million as of 4Q17

Maxis lost 849k revenue generating subscribers (RGS) including 949k prepaid subscribers. However the Telco added 141k revenue generating postpaid subscribers in 2017. At the end of 2017, Maxis had 10 million revenue generating mobile subscribers.

Digi now has 11.75 million mobile subscribers at the end of 2017, including 9.27 million on Prepaid and 2.48 million on Postpaid. There are 8.66 million Internet users and 8.4 million smartphone users. Digi 4G LTE-A coverage at 55% of the Malaysia population.
